Harlan Lee is a USCF Senior Master and a professional educator who has been teaching chess to children for over 25 years. During these years, Mr. Lee has managed over 20 scholastic programs in Arizona and Washington. His after school programs have taught chess to thousands of students. His school teams have won numerous state and national titles.
Mr. Lee, who is a USCF certified coach, has personally trained 7 national champions and over 25 students achieving the top 50 national list for their age group. Mr. Lee has also coached players internationally for the 1992 US All Star Team during the World Youth Championship and the 1991 National Scholastic Championship Team's European tour.
As a tenured professor and college administrator in Bellevue Washington, Mr. Lee specializes in learning and instruction, academic achievement, and distance education. He holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology, a Masters degree in Counseling and a Masters degree in Education with a concentration in curriculum design and instruction. Mr. Lee is also currently serving on the USCF Chess and Education Committee. His chess curriculum has been used by America's Foundation for Chess, Chess4kids, and ChessMate Academy.
